Addicted To On-Line Dating
Any pursuit can become all encompassing. All the daily perusal on the net, from downloading porn to reading political blogs, to all manner of video gaming or even a book discussion group can become addictive if we let it. Stories of sexual addiction is becoming almost our modern-day celebs’ reasons for 
being and all anyone has to do is look around to see how many people, young and old, are nose deep in their PDA’s! From the fetish to the benign, we are led through life by the bright and shiny objects of our distraction.
The Internet is perfect to envelope us. Nothing occupies our minds more then the idea that we might make a connection, albeit a tentative one, with someone like us out there, looking just like we are. Addicted to just the idea of the promise of heretofore unimagined sex, or at least the possibility to share a coffee it’s a wonder that more of us aren’t addicted to online dating and singles dating sites. The perfect medium for our quick attention spans and the need we have to become immersed in a pursuit, looking for love and sex on line answers every need we have for an all-powerful pursuit facilitated with speed and accuracy, at a small price. Men and women both, gay or straight, even teens, we all seem to want to make a connection or at the very least be attractive to someone else, even if it is someone we never meet.
And the more we pursue the idea of dating on line the easier it becomes, until the point that all we might ever want to do is date on line.
For most single people, it is more the potential then ever the execution of dating that makes on-line social networking so attractive. Given the veritable keys to the kingdom, in affect finding out mate, stops the addiction process; we simply wouldn’t be distracted any longer. What feeds our natures better is the potential for something and not finding the goal. For some, truly it is the completion of the task, getting that guy or girl to go on a date with us, maybe even actually securing a mate, but for most the addiction with online dating comes from searching the on-line dating databases, culling through profile pics and the do’s, don’ts, likes and dislikes of potential mates that is most attractive and will keep us coming back time and again.
